COMMENTS FROM STUDENTS 1- Spanish 101
"As a fairly new computer and Internet user, I was a little cautious in
signing up for an online course, let alone a foreign language course. My
fears were unfounded. Spanish 101 has been a wonderful entry into what I know
will be a continuing online learning education. The instructor had patience
and always responded to students' questions. The coursework included lively,
creative exchanges to utilize our vocabulary building and grammar practice.
The teacher's zeal for the Spanish language was so effectively communicated
that it was contagious. With the hopeful anticipation of future sound files,
this course got better and better. I highly and enthusiastically recommend
this course to anyone interested in learning Spanish. For me, it iproved to
be a unique and rewarding experience."

I approached taking Spanish on the Internet with doubt and skepticism,
but boy! did the teacher make a believer of me! There are no words to
express my gratitude. Not only was the class effective in teaching the most
useful words and phrases, but it was also the most well-taught, organized,
and enjoyable course I have ever taken. The pacing and lesson structure
ensured that we were learning rapidly without the stress I expected. The
school has a way of putting her classes together that I can only describe by
comparing it to a jet airplane............just as you sit in a jet and cannot
feel the distance you are covering, in their classes, you quickly move along
without even realizing how much you have learned in just a few weeks. I
would highly recommend these classes to any serious Spanish student. It's
the best money I ever spent!

2- Spanish 102
I've found the "Spanish 102" class very helpful. I've been studying the
language on my own for approx. one year. I've made some headway but still
have a long way to go. Your class has given me a sense of direction, with
structured goals and a schedule. It has also forced me to explore areas that
I have avoided in the past (verb conjugation for example) because of their
complexity and the degree of concentration required for mastery. I'm looking
forward to continuing my study with the next class starting soon.
I feel the online classes give self-motivated students the extra push they
need to succeed. I am also very satisfied with your instructional
techniques. You always seem to cover the material, answer student questions
in a clear and concise manner, motivate individual involvement in
discussions, all the while allowing a relaxed but controlled environment.
Thanks for all your help. I'm looking forward to attending more of your on
line courses.

"I have taken the courses Spanish 101 and 102 and hopefully later on I will
take a couple more. They are very interesting and fun to be in. The teacher
makes them fun with her cyber shopping trips and going to the restaurant and
having ice cream. They also teach you a lot about reading, writing, and
sentence construction, not to mention trying to learn about verbs which is
hard for me to keep straight in English. I have really enjoyed the classes
and I am sure when I take others they will be just as educational and as much
fun as the first two."

3- Spanish 103
I must admit that I had doubts about a distant learning course of any kind,
having recently graduated from a local university, and being quite familiar
with the high costs of tuition. To my surprise, the online course has given
me plenty of material to review those things I need to converse - not just
grammar, but familiar phrases that are often more difficult to translate.
If I'm not sure about something, the instructor is available during the week,
through email. I was afraid that my Spanish abilities would be too far out
of practice to avoid humiliation in such a class, but I've found that all of
the participating students so far have varying levels of fluency, and we're
all there because we need help with SOMEthing. So that was a wasted fear.
Each week our class "visits" a different Spanish-speaking country.
Although our time to discuss that country is limited, I have found that I can
learn as much about each as I choose to, because the instructor provides us
with a hyperlink to a high-quality web site about it. The students can be
well prepared to discuss the country before class.
I have to conclude that, when the student takes advantage of all
the opportunities available to learn from this course, its price tag makes it
a bargain. I can recommend it with confidence.

"I found the course fun and helpful. I liked having the vocabulary list
each week and the translation exercises. There is a great deal to think
about. Taking a class on line was new to me and I found it to be very fast.
Once I had the correct translations I typed up the sentence together with the
Spanish and would go through them carefully. Examples are helpful in
understanding the rules. Then I would have questions. Short of having a
Spanish speaking companion or living in a Spanish speaking country I don't
know how I could learn faster. I might give this some more thought. :~))

With your help and the aid of the tape, I have been able to retain a lot of
the lessons. The classes are fun! You answer all of my e-mail very
promptly. I will be continuing Spanish lessons at a later date. Sometimes
the class can get a little "cluttered", but you have to expect that with
so-o-o many people attending. All in all, it has been a good one! It is my
first class on the Internet and I look forward to more."
